This beautiful engagement shoot took place in the lovely tuscan hillsides at La Selva Villa.  The property was gorgeous and we spent some time just before sunset photographing these stunning Italian models Georgia & Giordano.  The light really was amazing and nothing like I’ve ever seen!  We spent some time with Gene Higa going over positioning your subject, lighting, posing (really, not posing) and working with your subject to create beautiful images.  I am in love with the results and hope you like the images that I captured below.  I’m definitely ready to move to Italy!!!

Many thanks to:

Italy Week!!!

February 1, 2010

I am so very excited to finally be able to share my wonderful trip to Italy this past fall!  I attended a photography workshop with the talented Jose Villa & Gene Higa in the lovely tuscan hillsides.  The workshop location was a dream and learning from two photographers that I admire on top of that was amazing!  I was also able to meet so many new colleagues and friends.  It’s very hard to describe the experience in words, but hopefully I will be able to explain how this workshop has impacted my life as a photographer and as a person.

I have posts lined up each day this week featuring my experience at the workshop and several shoots that I was able to participate in.  For now, here’s one of my favorite shots from my trip!

Joy & Sean were married in September in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Stay tuned for their beautiful wedding coming soon!  While in Santa Fe, Joy and Sean wanted their engagement photos taken right in the little town where they would be married.  We walked around the quaint streets and found some beautiful little spots.  First, we headed to San Miguel Mission which is the oldest church still in use in the country.  The adobe-style building was built in 1610 by the Tlaxcalan Indians of Mexico.  Next to the mission is the claimed ”oldest house” (1646) in America on DeVargas Street.  It was a beautiful adobe building, very authentic Santa Fe.  Then, we headed over to Canyon Road - an area filled with art galleries and charming Santa Fe-style homes and buildings.  I was in love with all the historic, adobe-colored structures with hints of turquoise on the doors, gates and archways.  The beautiful desert sunset gave us some gorgeous light to end the evening.
