I know everyone has heard of Southern Weddings - Southern Weddings Magazine and the equally as popular Southern Weddings Blog.  The creator of both of these great publication for brides is also the founder of MTH: Making Things Happen, the workshop, represents wedding industry artists through Lara Casey Reps, and, in her spare time, she also runs Bliss Event Group, a wedding design and planning division.  Whew!  This girl is busy!  Super busy, but not too busy to help share her knowledge with others.  She’s created MTH & Lara Casey Reps to provide mentoring and workshops.

If you haven’t been able to attend, or been lucky enough to have a private mentor session with her, this is definitely for YOU!  Lara is now offering an online intensive called Get Published + Get Branded.  If you follow @LaraCaseyReps on Twitter, you may know about her #GetPublished and #GetBranded series on Twitter, helping wedding industry professionals by giving them tips on getting published and branding themselves.  She is now offering a live, online intensive for anyone to attend.  Click on this link or the image below to register.

MSP Fine Art Products

May 18, 2010

I have been a fan of Cypress products for a long, long time.  After attending WPPI and seeing many of their albums & products in person, I was sold.  I recently ordered some sample products to show clients and display some of my work.  I absolutely love the quality and look of these folios, presentation boxes and proof boxes.  The Japanese silk bookbinding fabric comes in many different colors & a few textures and is complimented by a silk ribbon.  For these samples, I also ordered my prints through a new lab - Richard Photo Lab.  When I received the prints in the mail, I was blown away!  The colors were amazing and I am in love with the Fuji paper.  Gorgeous, gorgeous prints to go with these pretty products.

MSP offers all the products you see here as a-la-carte items that you can add on to any photography package.  The boxes and folios come in a variety of sizes and can typically hold a 3.5″x5″ up to an 8×10 print.  Contact MSP today to purchase these products and for additional pricing information.  The folios & presentation boxes can be a great alternative to a parent album.  Speaking of albums, Cypress also has several types of gorgeous albums available as well.  I am creating a sample now and will share photos soon.  They offer both matted and flushmount albums that also include a beautiful storage box wrapped in the same silk fabric & ribbon.  I love that all products can coordinate together to create a suite of display options for your wedding photos.

Small presentation box in grey silk fabric. Love the ribbon accent on the binding. The presentation box and proofbox contain a hidden magnetic closure on the binding to securely close the box.

Archival quality thick mats are held in the silk-covered box. I love that you can simply flip through the mats to view the photos or use them as interchangeable mats to put in frames and switch them out whenever you please. (Frames not included)

The boxes and folios come wrapped in white vellum paper and are secured with a tag featuring name imprinting.

Any boxes can be imprinted with your name, wedding date, location, etc. in silver or clear foil stamping.

The proofbox with Japanese silk fabric binding & a silk ribbon. Boxes can hold anywhere from 200 to 1600 4″x6″ proof prints.

Silver foil stamped imprinting.

Can’t decide which is my favorite, but the folio is definitely up there. Folios come in several sizes with different print size options. Framed mats are attached to the folded folio and photos are mounted within the frames. Folios available in several configurations including a double, tri-fold or quad-fold (as seen here).

Cypress products are available to professional photographers only, so photographers please check out their products!  Also check out Richard Photo Lab for prints.  Both of these companies are top-notch and create beautiful products.  They are worth a look so please check them out.
