It’s always fun to work with creative vendors, new and old. So many of my colleagues are super talented and I enjoy working with them so much! But on a wedding day, I sometimes don’t get to see them, or work with them directly – I only see the result of their hard work be it florals or makeup, etc. While our jobs alone are really fun, sometimes it’s even more fun to play and create something beautiful together, allow our imaginations to run free and inspire others in the process. We really get to know each other better this way, find out how we all like to work individually and use those individual strengths to form a team – and in the future use those skills & talent for a real wedding!
I’ve worked with sweet Angie from Birch Blooms for years now and she is so talented. We decided to do a fun project together, with our goal being to create something that we’ve never seen before. Our original ideas went out the window once we came together and started chatting about the new bridal fashions released at fashion week last spring. We saw so many floral details on dresses, embroidery, lace, fabric flowers, etc. While all of these details were so beautiful & inspiring, we thought, “why not create something with real flowers”! But something far from the norm, something different, something that brides could actually do with their flowers and use them in a creative and fun way. We thought, why not use REAL flowers in one’s accessories, created from real blooms to create crowns, necklaces, bracelets, belts, etc. A bride could substitute these accessories for a real bouquet, or use a traditional bouquet for the ceremony and switch to a flower accessory for the reception!
What Birch Blooms came up with was WAY beyond my expectations & ideas that I had in my head. Not only that, but she used some of my favorite blooms to create these beautiful accessories that any bride can wear. Birch Blooms is now creating these very accessories for brides to wear on their wedding day, so check out the beautiful images below and contact Angie today if you’d like her to create one of these special pieces for your big day!
I also have to mention the other wonderful ladies that helped make this shoot possible…the lovely model Eva Duvall who braved the scorching temps for the shoot. Chaviano Couture who provided the beautiful gowns that really complimented our concept & location perfectly! The flawless makeup was provided by Andrea Carter Artistry who is always so professional yet fun at the same time! (I died over the lipstick blend that Andrea created, such a beautiful color & texture!) And Robn Johnsen was on hand to beautifully style the models hair into several different styles for our shoot. BIG thanks again to everyone for their creative talents in making this shoot possible!
