Last summer, I had the absolute pleasure to shoot a wedding in the beautiful Amalfi Coast of Italy alongside my amazing colleague Alicia Swedenborg. After shooting an amazing rehearsal dinner and wedding in Ravello, we ended up having a little girls trip and hanging out in Ravello and Amalfi for a few days. Besides getting to spend some time with my good friend, as well as relax after a busy spring and early summer season, we decided that we should do a little inspirational shoot while in Ravello.
Turns out, Ravello is one of those quaint, perfect little Italian hill-towns that you picture in your imagination. Very small, in fact so small that by the time we left, we knew so many locals in town by name and they remembered us and said hello daily! We also ran into some celebrities, as apparently this town is popular with those who wish to be discreet. In addition to it’s small-town charm, the landscape is gorgeous with the town situated high on the cliffs and hills on the Amalfi Coast, with views of vineyards, farms and small homes inland, as well as sweeping views of the sea on the other side, with bigger towns like Atrani and Amalfi below. It’s truly amazing, and I highly suggest a visit there if you’re headed to The Amalfi Coast. It’s also much more quaint than the touristy towns of Amalfi and Positano, and at 5pm all the tourists leave and you have the entire town all to yourself.
I think some of the tourists thought we were actually models (oops, sorry folks!) when we took photos of each other in the center of town one evening. The light was dreamy and we were having the best time! Of course Alicia always looks like a model, for me it took awhile before I warmed up to the camera.
Back to our shoot, we planned a small, elopement-themed shoot with our amazing friends Alice and Matteo with the help of the vendors listed below and had such a fun day collaborating, creating and shooting. The shoot was recently featured on Style Me Pretty Destination, which you can see HERE or by clicking on the image below.
A full blogpost of the shoot is coming soon, but in the meantime be sure to checkout the feature on SMP! Thanks again to Alicia for collaborating and to SMP for featuring our work! Here’s one of my favorite images and locations that we scouted for the portraits, so, so dreamy…and the ‘real’ view overlooking the mountains and sea was behind me!!!
